Silver Makiji Bowl L
A wooden bowl handcrafted by Japanese craftsman Yusuke Tazawa. This piece is very unique as the lacquer used to coat the bowl is a combination of urushi and charcoal powder (using the makiji technique). Layering in this way creates a rougher surface texture, the colour has hints of silver and brown running throughout.
This combination is really quite beautiful, as the light hits this piece you see all the little bumps and flecks from the lacquer. It’s unbelievable that this bowl is made of wood with its stunning form.
